What it is

The 6R35 is Seiko’s mid-range movement, found in many Prospex and Presage models between €700 and €1,400. It keeps the 4R’s 21,600 beats per hour but stretches the reserve to about 70 hours: take it off on Friday and it is still running on Monday.

It hacks, hand-winds and has a date. Against Swiss watches with a Powermatic 80 at the same price, it offers a little less reserve and simpler servicing outside the official network.

For anyone who wants a Seiko with more reserve and better finishing than the 5 Sports range.

Maker: Seiko. The figures on this page come from each watch’s spec sheet.
